Dock 3–5 in Leicester’s Space City has officially opened, marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Leicester City Mayor Sir Peter Soulsby.
The flexible workspace is located in the Space City Enterprise Zone and supports Leicester’s low-carbon hub for high-tech industries and innovative businesses.
It is intended to boost local businesses and job creation, with initial tenants including Kazzoo IT Solutions, Somerbys IT, IN Focus ITS and others.
The latest Dock buildings expand on Dock 1 and 2, which are currently fully occupied.
Soulsby welcomed the new tenants and emphasised the hub’s potential for regional economic growth.
The buildings, designed to be net carbon zero, rely on electricity for heating and include eco-friendly features such as bird boxes, retained trees, and minimised lighting to protect wildlife.
