Construction firm completes £13m expansion at Nottingham secondary school

A local construction company has finished a £13m expansion at Carlton le Willows Academy in Gedling, Nottingham.

In the first phase of the project, Clegg Construction added a new two-story South Block with a performance space, dining hall, 20 classrooms, offices, and a main reception connecting the East and West buildings.

Designed by Welham Architects, South Block recently received a commendation at the regional LABC Building Excellence Awards.

The second phase involved refurbishing and repurposing parts of the existing school, including turning the old dining and assembly areas into more teaching spaces.

Ross Crowcroft, pre-construction director at Clegg Construction, said: “Clegg Construction has had a long relationship with Carlton le Willows Academy, supporting the school in several improvement projects.
