Public inquiry into controversial 225-home plan on 'treasured wildlife site' to begin

The public inquiry into the contentious proposal to construct 225 homes on a 'treasured wildlife site' in Knutsford is set to commence this month. The inquiry, concerning land east of Longridge, is anticipated to span six days and will be held at Macclesfield Town Hall over two weeks, starting Tuesday, November 12.

The inquiry has been called following Dewscope's appeal against Cheshire East Council's refusal in December to grant permission for the development. Opponents of the project are calling for public support at the hearings.

Campaigner Debbie Jamison from Knutsford Residents Over Ward (KROW) commented: "Any attendance in person would be appreciated by the parties opposing this application to put a new road through the playing field and destroy the Local Wildlife site (LWS)."
