A Leicestershire housebuilder has created an exciting new job role and is recruiting for an ‘archi-tot of the future’.
Redrow Midlands, which is currently building at Hugglescote Grange in Coalville and Wigston Meadows in Wigston, is calling on the county’s youngsters to design a house suitable for 2126 – some 100 years from now.
Whether it’s wallpaper that changes depending on your mood, a fridge that restocks automatically or a bathroom that cleans itself, the design must suit the needs of ultra-modern family life while being energy efficient and built sustainably.
The role is open to four-to-16-year-olds across the region, who will need to submit their ‘house of the future’ design to BarrattRedrow@wpragency.co.uk.
The winning archi-tot will not only receive a £100 prize but will also see their design placed in a time capsule and buried in the ground at Hugglescote Grange, ready to be unearthed in a century’s time.
Imaginative youngsters across the region have until midnight on Friday 16 October to submit their entries. The winner will join other successful archi-tots chosen by Redrow regions across the UK, with one overall champion to be announced later this year.
