A Derbyshire lighting manufacturer that began as a small stained-glass business has reduced prices across its luxury lighting range following a series of long-term improvements to its manufacturing processes.Ā

Founded in Chesterfield in 1987, Northern Lights designs and handcrafts decorative lighting at a 38,000 sq. ft. facility, one of the largest purpose-built lighting factories in the UK, with a 47-strong team, some of whom have been with the company for more than 25 years.

Donna Bruce, Managing Director at Northern Lights, said: ā€œOur updated pricing across our Signature Collection makes our British-made lighting more accessible across a wider range of settings.ā€Ā

She adds: ā€œOver the past few years, we’ve made significant improvements in our manufacturing capabilities, streamlining production processes and identifying efficiencies across our operations.Ā

ā€œThese enhancements have strengthened how we work, supporting British manufacturing and creating efficiencies that allow us to deliver greater value without compromising on quality.ā€

The brand’s lighting can be seen in landmark venues around the world, from Raffles London at The OWO and the Waldorf Astoria to Harrods and the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.

The company has reduced pricing across its Luxury Signature Collection while continuing to combine premium raw materials with handcrafted decorative detailing, reflecting the company's longstanding commitment to British design and craftsmanship. The Made in Britain-accredited business has twice been recognised with Manufacturer Top 100 status.Ā

Bruce adds: ā€œAt Northern Lights, we’ve always believed that success isn’t about working harder; it’s about working smarter. We remain committed to proving that British craftsmanship, exceptional quality and competitive pricing can coexist.Ā

ā€œOur focus has been on removing inefficiencies, embracing innovation and ensuring that the benefits of those initiatives are shared with our customers.Ā

ā€œThe products remain the same. The craftsmanship remains the same. Our commitment to British manufacturing remains the same. What has changed is our ability to deliver greater value.ā€

The Chesterfield-based manufacturer says the changes reflect its ongoing commitment to supporting UK manufacturing and sustaining skilled local employment.
