Derby-based Godfrey Care has opened a new specialist residential care service in Sutton-in-Ashfield, bringing bespoke high-quality living and support for adults with complex needs.
Willow Lodge was officially opened during an Open Day attended by families, care professionals, local partners and stakeholders. The event included a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by the High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire, Merlita Bryan MBE.
The newly redeveloped service provides four self-contained apartments for adults with complex, high-acuity support needs. Each apartment offers ground-floor living and private garden space, alongside communal areas designed to encourage independence, social interaction and wellbeing.
The opening marks the completion of a major redevelopment project following Godfrey Care's purchase of the property earlier this year.

Visitors to the Open Day were given the opportunity to tour the new service and learn more about the person-centred approach that has shaped its development. Families have played an important role throughout the project, taking part in regular site visits and providing feedback on the design and layout of the service. Their involvement has helped create homes tailored to the needs of the individuals living there. The service also benefits from on-site support from a highly experienced service team and additional support from a multidisciplinary team of clinical professionals.
Godfrey Care will shortly begin welcoming its first arrivals to Willow Lodge, with carefully planned transitions already underway.
The organisation hopes the new service will help meet growing demand for specialist residential support within the East Midlands region, allowing individuals to live closer to their families and local communities.
