MHR sponsors DisruptHR Nottingham, which will take place at Motorpoint Arena Nottingham on 13th November, uniting speakers eager to energise, inform and empower.
– DisruptHR Nottingham is back for 2025, offering HR and business leaders a platform to challenge convention and address the workplace issues that don’t always make the agenda. The event will once again be supported by headline sponsor MHR, the Nottinghamshire based HR, payroll, and finance software specialist, and take place on Thursday 13th November 2025 at Motorpoint Arena Nottingham.
Businesses face pressing challenges as the pace of change in the workplace continues to accelerate, from AI adoption and workforce reskilling to creating inclusive and ethically responsible cultures. DisruptHR Nottingham provides a platform to address these topics head-on in a series of short, dynamic presentations.
Jeanette Wheeler, Chief People Officer, MHR, said, “AI is one of the defining issues shaping the future of work and needs its time in the spotlight, but it is far from the only challenge businesses are facing. From harassment prevention to workforce wellbeing and inclusion, businesses everywhere are facing a new set of complex challenges. DisruptHR Nottingham puts these conversations centre stage, showing that real progress starts when employees are part of the solution. Whether adopting new technologies, reshaping culture, or addressing ethical responsibilities, lasting progress depends on bringing people into the conversation and equipping them with the skills to thrive.”
DisruptHR, and its mission to tackle the tough topics facing HR, reflects MHR’s own broader commitment to supporting organisations as they navigate the challenges of a changing workplace. Recent research by MHR shows that while 91% of UK business leaders report readiness to embrace AI, one in three lack the skills to implement it effectively. Around two-thirds (64%) consider AI a strategic priority, yet fewer than half feel fully prepared to deploy it across core business functions such as HR, payroll, and learning.
MHR’s Senior Product Manager and AI expert, Yuan Deng, will explore the challenges of AI in her talk on “Human Debt and AI”, examining the practical, cultural, and ethical considerations of integrating AI into organisations. Yuan said “I’m really looking forward to sharing my thoughts on ‘Human Debt’ and exploring why companies that don’t reskill will die.”
To mirror the urgency of the topics being discussed, the event will feature 14 speakers delivering five-minute talks on topics including the early indicators of organisational health, turning crises into opportunities, the duty to prevent sexual harassment, and dealing with anti-DEI backlash.
All proceeds from ticket sales will benefit Improving Lives, a Nottinghamshire charity supporting people with mental health conditions to reduce isolation, improve wellbeing, and participate fully in work and society.
Wheeler continues, “DisruptHR Nottingham provides a platform for bold ideas that challenge the status quo. We’re proud to support an event that pushes HR and business leaders to think differently, share insight, and take action – while also raising funds for a charity making a tangible impact on workplace wellbeing in our community.”
