PortionIQ launches to support nutrition in GLP-1 users

Cambridge Nutritional Foods has launched PortionIQ, a portion-controlled nutrition range designed for people using GLP-1 weight-loss medications and health-conscious consumers seeking convenient, balanced servings.
Backed by decades of nutritional expertise, PortionIQ blends evidence-based science with real-life practicality in a range of shakes, bites, soups and drinks formulated to help maintain balanced nutrition when appetite is reduced.
Research shows appetite-suppressing medications are on the rise, with 1.6 million adults taking Ozempic, Wegovy and Mounjaro between early 2024 and early 2025 and a further 3.3 million considering using them in the next year.
Mark Gilbert, nutritionist at PortionIQ said: “We’re seeing a real shift in how people approach weight management, particularly with the rising popularity and availability of GLP-1s. But while appetite may decrease while taking these medications, nutritional needs don’t.
“PortionIQ has been developed to bridge that gap – providing balanced protein, fibre and micronutrients in convenient, pre-portioned servings that work in real life. It’s about helping people feel confident they’re nourishing their bodies properly, even when their appetite is reduced.”
Cambridge Nutritional Foods is an employee-owned nutrition company, grounded in trusted science, shared ownership and responsible action. It aims to shape the future of nutrition by serving a high standard for evidence-based health, helping people live healthier, better lives.
PortionIQ’s products - including Vegetable Soup with Croutons, Mixed Berry Shake, Very Berry Bites and St. Clements Electrolytes - contain more than 21 essential vitamins and minerals, supporting energy, metabolism, immune function and cognitive wellbeing.
Nutrition gaps are a concern for people using GLP-1 medications, but the wider UK population is also failing to meet basic dietary guidelines. Only four per cent of people get enough fibre in their diet, while almost half struggle to meet daily vitamin requirements.
Although the majority do meet general protein recommendations - around 0.75g per kilogram of bodyweight - protein becomes particularly important for people who are losing weight, as it supports the maintenance of muscle mass.
Experts suggest that adults taking GLP-1 medications may need between 1.2 to 1.6 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight daily to help preserve lean muscle mass, yet consistently reaching those targets can be difficult when appetites are suppressed.
Mark added: “Cambridge Nutritional Foods has more than four decades of experience turning nutritional science into practical solutions that support people throughout their weight management journey.
“PortionIQ provides a straightforward, controlled approach to meeting protein, fibre and vitamin requirements. With an ‘every bite counts’ philosophy, precision portioning and science-led balance, every shake, soup, or snack delivers maximum nourishment and satiety in every calorie in minimal volume, supporting sustained energy, appetite control and confident daily progress.
“When appetite changes, people shouldn’t have to worry about whether they’re getting the right nutrition – and that’s exactly the problem this range is designed to solve.”
In addition to PortionIQ, Cambridge Nutritional Foods’ portfolio includes The 1:1 Diet, a market leader in weight management; Serenova, a women’s wellness supplement brand, and Food Nutrition Partners, its manufacturing and innovation arm.
