The Revesby Rural Activities Fund can be used to access rural careers, skills and opportunities
Revesby Country Fair, a popular Lincolnshire day out, is supporting young people working in the countryside by offering grants of up to £1,000.
Young people up to the age of 25 who are living and working in Lincolnshire are invited to apply for funding through the Revesby Rural Activities Fund, a bursary scheme which supports access to rural careers, skills and opportunities.
The bursary aims to give young people the chance to participate in a wide range of rural activities, including traditional skills, crafts, gamekeeping and horticulture. Open to all applications, the scheme will consider any rural-based activity.
The bursary can be used to fund a variety of costs, such as travel, agricultural courses or placements, driving or tractor licenses, towing qualifications and IT equipment.
John Roe, Chairman of Revesby Country Fair, said:
“We’re proud to be helping young people across Lincolnshire and expanding their opportunities through the Revesby Rural Activities Fund.
“Living in a rural area can sometimes make accessing training and opportunities more challenging, whether that’s due to travel, costs or availability. This bursary is designed to remove some of those barriers and encourage more young people to pursue careers and interests in the rural sector.

The Revesby Rural Activities Fund has already made a significant difference to previous recipients and allowed them to pursue their career aspirations.
Megan Smalley received support while studying for a Master’s degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy at the University of Nottingham. She said:
“I was so shocked to find out my grant application was successful, it has made all the difference to my studies. It has enabled me to attend university and facilitated the many placements I have to attend across the country in order to pass.
“I enjoy living in a rural area, but it has brought challenges in both commuting and financing attending university in another city. It is such a lovely idea to be helping those in rural communities; I am so grateful for the help of the grant.”
