Tamworth homes development reaches century milestone as new phase launches

A new housing development in Tamworth has reached an important milestone with the completion of over 100 homes.

A total of 104 properties have now been built and occupied at Ashberry Homes’ Oaklands development off Ashby Road, where the latest phase of homes has just been launched.

Oaklands will eventually comprise 292 properties, including 24 affordable homes for rent or shared ownership.

The development features a range of two, three, four and five-bedroom houses, and is part of a wider scheme of 535 homes.

Claire Black, Sales Manager for Ashberry Homes East Midlands, said: “This is a significant milestone for Oaklands and it highlights the high level of demand for homes at the development.

“Much of the interest has been from within Tamworth itself, but we are also seeing people from outside the area looking to put down roots in the town. Although Oaklands is in a semi-rural setting on the edge of town, it is still only a five-minute drive to the centre of Tamworth.

“There are a range of amenities within close proximity of the new homes, including several schools and a supermarket. In addition to this, the brand-new Anker Valley Primary School being delivered as part of the wider development is due to open in September this year.

“While a wide variety of buyers have been able to find their dream home at Oaklands, the development is particularly well-suited to families. We currently have a range of spacious four and five-bedroom detached family houses available to buy, with a further selection due to go on sale later this year.”

Construction work at Oaklands commenced back in May 2017 and is scheduled to be completed in early 2023. The third phase of the development will include 24 homes.

A select number of properties will be completed before the end of the stamp duty holiday on 30 June, meaning buyers could save thousands of pounds on their purchase.

Through its Assisted Move scheme, Ashberry Homes can also help people who need to sell their current property.
A variety of house types are currently available at Oaklands, starting from £202,000 for The Anwell, a two-bedroom semi-detached home, to £395,000 for The Bagworth, a four-bedroom detached house.
