The esteemed Chelford coal shed is now in the final stages of restoration thanks to the support of Cheshire developer David Wilson Homes.
The respected building was the original coal office for Chelford Station and the leading Cheshire developer is now restoring the structure as a part of the development at Galloway Grange on Dixon Drive.

The building, one of Chelford’s most important structures was constructed shortly after the railway was created in the area in 1842.
The developer has restored the Coal Shed to its former glory by carefully dismantling it, cleaning and reusing all materials and rebuilding it. It will now form a lasting memorial to the history of the site, as it performs its new role as a cycle store and bin store.

As well as restoring the historical building, the five star developer has contributed £601,429 to the local area as a part of an S106 agreement with the local council.
Construction at Galloway Grange began in 2018, with a visit from Chelford Parish Council’s representative, Chris Wilson, and David Wilson Home North West’s Planning Director, Andrew Taylor, to cut the sod and signify the start of the development.
Galloway Grange is also ideally located for public transport or getting around in the car. With a bus stop down the road it makes it easy for buyers to get into the centre of Macclesfield or Knutsford. Chelford train station is on the doorstep of the development, opening up easy routes to both the North and South.
