Housing developer funds free bus service to annual fayre

A housing developer is sponsoring a free shuttle bus service so people can attend Market Harborough Summer Fayre.

Davidsons Homes, which is building new homes at Lubenham View, off Lubenham Hill, and at Wellington Place, off Leicester Road, is donating £700 to cover the cost of the weekend bus service from the town centre to Market Harborough Showground off Gallow Field Road.

The sponsorship will allow the organisers of the fayre to provide a free shuttle bus three times a day on Saturday 31 July and Sunday 1 August, with services leaving the indoor market on Northampton Road at 11am, midday and 1pm and returning at 1.30pm, 3.30pm, and 4.30pm on both days.

Juliette Maher, Director of Harborough Fayres CIC, said: “We are really grateful to Davidsons Homes for sponsoring the shuttle bus, which will go a long way in helping people to come down and enjoy our summer fayre.”

Simon Tyler, Sales Director for Davidsons Homes South Midlands, said: “Everyone has had a tough time over the past year and more due to the pandemic, so this kind of public event is very important to people after lockdowns and restrictions.

“Our funding support for the shuttle bus will mean that people who might struggle to get to the fayre because it is outside the town centre can join in the fun.”
