The final hand over of award-winning East Midlands urban developer Bildurn’s 50,000 sq foot icon space to D& G of 11 Station Street, Nottingham marks the completion of the final stage of this major scheme.
Located in the heart of Nottingham City Council’s ‘Southside Redevelopment Zone’ the Station Conservation Area site sits is close to the Midland railway station – which has enjoyed a multimillion-pound facelift – the area is at the heart of the city’s public transport network and the best-connected area in Nottingham.
The multimillion-pound transformational project has seen the completion of four important developments in this waterside location evolving the skyline. Bildurn’s investment in high quality development of the area of Station Street and Carrington Street is over 20 years in the making and has involved the demolition of existing buildings
As well as the new iconic Grade A £65m D&G offices, close by is the stunning Vita Student complex, a £24m scheme of 320 high-end student flats. The other two elements are the renovation of the former Granby and Gresham Hotels, these neighbouring buildings overlooking the canal. D & G will move into the space in March this year.
The contemporary 11 Station Street building was designed by Franklin Ellis using a mix of traditional and modern materials, providing a striking development over 5 floors. It is fully glazed all the way around, creating different environments on each office floor plan with a view over the canal. It was constructed to BREEAM Excellent rating with a range of sustainable measures as well as providing electric car charging points and secure cycle storage.
The upper floors of the building cut back and feature an external terrace and roof garden with views across the city.
Bildurn’s substantial investment in the complete renovation and sympathetic conversation of the former Gresham Hotel on Carrington Street and The Granby (and Police station) also on Station Street has seen their conversation into luxury apartments. On both schemes Bildurn has retained or re-instated many original features within the properties, including restoration of the original sash and stained-glass windows. The Gresham’s redevelopment began in 2016 with new ground floor retail including 200 Degrees.
